(mis)consequences of lying on the tune of a Bach sonata

In Poetry on September 27, 2012 at 4:54 pm

silence is irreverence

sacred music is dead
i’ve been trying to tell them
and i’ve been trying to convince myself

my bosses know i’m lying and
pretending confidences

and i know i’m a thief
with coals in my diaphragm

for the less i speak the more
i summon the sophistry of angels

surely they are unhappy not hearing
the angry swallows trapped in my mouth

they may not catch me
but when i turn my back
i know i know
i will not escape the burning of Ileum

sincerely.

When asked what his embarassing moment was, Jay Coral once said he butchered the English language a lot. He still does. Feel free to read them at http://bluejayeye.blogspot.com/
