A big thank you to everyone who participated in the competition. After these many years of poetry, we were surprised at the innovation and freshness poets had to offer and we are glad to be able to play a part in keeping it alive. The Golden Sparrow Poetry Prize 2011 would not have been a success without your inspiring poems.  Participants from almost every continent had verse to offer. We received a total of 570 entries and it was a pleasure to read each and every one of them.

Congratulations to Troubadour Kaul for his poem Letters to Samara: Fire & Ice which has been declared the winner of the Golden Sparrow Poetry Prize 2011. More of his poems and an interview will feature in an upcoming ‘Poet Showcase’ segment on our website.
